The client, has a 150-year history in South Africa and started building a franchise in the rest of Africa in the early 1990s. It currently operates in 18 countries on the African continent, including South Africa, as well as in other selected emerging markets. They have organized as three business units but present as one. The three main pillars of business are Personal & Business Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Wealth – Liberty.
The bank, in order to map its growth strategies at a fast pace, decided to streamline its IBM infrastructure that was presently working in silos. There were too many hierarchies, security constraints that resulted in slow movement of processes and in due course the business was getting affected. They also needed some experts who knew the business domain and followed sharp technology acumen to leverage start of the art tools and techniques
We connected the applications and services to raise operational efficiency and cost optimization which were the main factors for us to provide a plan and implement the integration project using WebSphere Business Integration. We partnered with the client’s IS team and developed the framework and implementation which included business modeling, process execution workflows and reporting. Primarily MQ -workflow and Message Broker were used. The team composed of Architects, Business analysts and developers and closely interacted with the business stakeholders as well.
